James Jackson Toth

The lastest in my series of favorite albums comes to us from James Jackson Toth (aka Wooden Wand). He has released several true masterpieces throughout the years, both solo and with The Vanishing Voice and The Sky High Band. Favorites of mine include Xiao, Buck Dharma, Gipsy Freedom, Second Attention, and Harem Of The Sundrum & The Witness Figg. Nothing else sounds like these albums. They feel like lost records found: old and new, fable and truth, black magic, death chants, and gospel blues. Wooden Wand's latest release, Death Seat, is available now from Young God. Here are some of his favorites.
