I recently contacted Apichatpong Weerasethakul and asked him for a list of his favorite albums. What I got instead was a Warmest Regards and these three photographs. A misunderstanding, a mystery... whatever it was, his indirect and off-handed reply certainly makes sense when compared to his films. He is one of my very favorite directors for that very reason: his elusive, fever dream, jungle fantasies are just as difficult to explain or entirely comprehend.
